About Us

Foransic Ltd was formed in 2016 by Pasei Ansah and Gavin Ford, two long time IT industry consultants who have spent much of their working lives alongside major defence contractors and government sector suppliers engaged on classified projects.  Often engaged ‘client side’, Pasei and Gavin realised that all too often smaller bespoke projects or tooling was not cost effective to procure from the monolithic vendors in these sectors.  Simple software tools frequently became burdened with ‘big company’ overheads, to the point where tooling of this sort was impractical for both time and money constraints.  This lead Pasei and Gavin to realise that there was a genuine need for a smaller more agile company to fulfil these bespoke needs, and hence Foransic Ltd was born.

Initially, Foransic focused on specific tooling for use in emerging telecoms technologies, including both full scale client server applications, through to specialised mobile applications.  Foransic achieved some early success in selling these tools into central government, providing a complete requirements, design, delivery and quality assurance service as well as a full ongoing support package.

Working in a classified environment meant that Foransic often engaged with corporate Vetting teams, and it was through this involvement that we came to realise that the Vetting team’s role included a large element of manual work for which the existing tooling was either unhelpful or non-existent.  Many clients were ‘making do’ with home grown solutions based around MS Excel or MS Access, sometime alongside legacy paper-based solutions.  This often led to difficulty keeping pace when audits were requested, or new large-scale projects were initiated, as well as concerns that mistakes could be made.  Aftercare activities such as annual security appraisals, and regular security refresher training tended to become something the teams aspired to, but often struggled to achieve consistently.  It was clear that there was a need for a solution that could, at the simplest level, assist with recording staff Vetting profiles, improving the clearance application process and streamlining the general Vetting management tasks.  Such an application would reduce the repetitive day to day workload on the Vetting teams, helping to improve accuracy and freeing up time to focus on providing a more comprehensive internal service.  Depending upon the options selected, this could even lead to a reduction in headcount, freeing up staff to focus on more profitable tasks within the business.

By working in close collaboration with diverse Vetting teams, and through the strategic appointment of Subject Matter Expert Jonathan Farrow in 2020, the eVett Vetting Management product was developed and enhanced into a fully-fledged, customisable commercial off the shelf product.  Why not contact us today to discover how eVett could help you to deliver the very best Vetting service?
